Marielle Grenade-Willis

MA, LPCC, NCC

I used to judge myself harshly for being too sensitive. Yet that sensitivity to authentic expression is what makes me a powerful ally in the therapeutic setting. Wearing my heart on my sleeve is my superpower, and it has led me to cultivate a lifelong journey with creative practices like collaging, dancing, singing, and writing. Throughout my own journey with psychotherapy, I’ve learned that the best interventions facilitate an honest conversation between my body and mind.

THEORETICAL LINEAGE

EMBODIED

Sensory-aware and trauma-informed therapies take stock of how our emotions affect our bodies and how our bodies affect our emotions based on what has happened to us throughout our lives. While you expand your ability to metabolize emotion using your physical awareness as an ally, I will be by your side providing a safe container in which to process sensation.

ECO-PSYCHOLOGICAL

Eco-psychological frameworks expose us to how our human experience is synchronistically mirrored in our external environment. The weather patterns of our internal, emotional world are reflected in the elemental systems of earth and sky. Using nature as a guide, I may inquire about emotions with imagery and metaphor.

EXPERIENTIAL

Experiential means active participation in exercises that facilitate growth outside of session. While talking about an issue is important, I believe action and embodiment in therapy is what propels personal change beyond it. I invite my clients to safely recreate and reenact past/present conditioning which may be a source of suffering.
